One of the main goals of this pond project was to create a place of peaceful beauty in the backyard that the home owners could visit daily. We wanted water lillies and fish so a small falls seemed in order here. We also put in a little bog area with a path that cuts right across that end of the water on some large stepping boulders. The stream and the falls provide enough sound to be soothing without drowning out conversation. Another bonus is the great view from the second story deck of the house.
